One of my new favorite words, and the definitions that resonate the most with me are number 4, then number 3.

Going after your dreams is a lot more daunting than it appears on the surface.

At first you’ll be feeling inspired and capable, maybe even powerful.  Then, imposter syndrome rears its ugly head.

We say things like "I can’t do this” or look for someone else to provide us a convenient escape.  It comes quickly and out of nowhere.  Slaps you right in the back of the head.

Instead let’s say “Go for it"!!!

The second one, "getting the recognition she deserves”.

The first thing that comes to mind is… from others, or from myself?

At this age you learn the recognition that others send toward you.

Are we giving ourselves the recognition we should be, or do we spend all our energy celebrating those around us?

When was the last time you caught yourself thinking, “Wow, I did really good”?  Much of it is just a matter of bringing awareness inward.  Giving ourselves grace when grace is due.  Mindfulness of our wonderful-ness.

It’s not arrogance to believe that you are outstanding at some thing and give yourself recognition for it.  It’s arrogant if you begin to believe you are better than others.

There is a difference.  Some don’t understand that and are fearful of being arrogant, so they diminished their achievements.  They don’t relish the recognition others show.

Think about what it means to be ambitious. You know what you’re good at, what you’re capable of. You set a destination and you go for it.

Then, simply add that flair of recognition. See the amazing steps before you, and own it. And unashamedly pick those roses of compliments along the way.

What’s one of your ambitchous moments? Or even one of those “I’m simply amazing” moments?
