"The truth is: Belonging starts with self-acceptance. Your level of belonging, in fact, can never be greater than your level of self-acceptance, because believing that you're enough is what gives you the courage to be authentic, vulnerable and imperfect.”

- Brene Brown

I believe its one thing to say you’re able to be vulnerable and another to actually open up and be raw with others.

I’m learning as I go.

Our society teaches us to be politely positive, even when it is unauthentic, as to be an example to be looked up to and so you don’t bring those around you down.  Put on that big smile and never let them see you sweat, or cry, or falter.

We’ve all mastered that one, haven’t we.  To what personal cost I wonder.

While Brene Brown is working hard at letting us know vulnerability is good and to be more open to it, society tells us the opposite.

My experience on instagram has been so love-filled and nourishing.  I love all you beautiful, crazy people.  It’s challenging for me as this past year has brought so many ups and downs for everyone.

While I love being creative and bringing my little thoughts of wisdom to all of you, I find it difficult to be creative during a bout of depression. February has always been a challenge for me.

Expending so much energy for others throughout the holiday season, celebrating the wedding anniversary in January, by the time February arrives, I’m feeling pretty down.

I always wonder if I’m the only one that goes through these post-holiday blues?

I spent the last week fighting to write the content for this post and just couldn’t find those wise and cheery thoughts to share.

With hesitation, I pour these words out.  It flowed and made me feel better. But then I wondered if I should share them.  Why bring my dark little rain cloud to other people’s day.

So, tell me?  Do you feel it’s good to talk about the good and the bad on social media?

What down sides do you feel it has?

Do you think it helps anyone sharing yourself on your less-than-perfect days?

Drop me a comment of how you feel about this.  I always love hearing your perspective
