“There is a fountain of youth: It is your mind, your talents, the creativity you bring to your life and the lives of people you love. When you learn to tap this source, you will truly have defeated age.”   — Sophia Loren

I’ve really been enjoying building and creating my instagram account.  (If you’re reading this, give me a follow, like or comment).
I initially felt I was too old to do it.  And at this age I’m way more comfortable behind the camera than in front of it.  Shooting video scares the hell out of me.

But overall, I’m happy with the wisdom that shows on my face.  I’ve lived a life that many might not have survived.  I’ll leave the vivid details for another post.  But suffice to say, I’m so proud of who I’ve grown into.

The woman I see in the mirror or in photos and videos is amazing to me.  Strong, comfortable in her skin, filled with dark humor and amazing talents.  While my life is probably pretty ordinary to many, I’ve accomplished extraordinary things.

I’ve worked hard leading a good example, teaching those I’m blessed to spend time with and coming to terms with all my beautiful, broken edges.

I’ve managed to not let circumstances that I’ve lived through jade me.  I’m super happy about that.  I live with quiet authenticity, grace and tenacious bravery.

My ability to handle difficulty, and help others through it makes me smile.  I call myself a warrior and am pleased that my life reflects that.  Yes, I’ve been afraid of a lot of things, but I always push past the fear so I can live a life that is full.

They tell me that social media is opening up your life to the world.  I’m taking the plunge and hope you all find it interesting, or at least funny as hell.

Leave me a comment and tell me what you are most proud of that you’ve accomplished…
