I had never heard of coconut sugar, so I did some research. Coconut sugar contains minerals such as zinc, iron, calcium, and potassium. It also contains short chain fatty acids, polyphenols, and other antioxidants although the calorie content is the same as table sugar.
In my opinion it’s a little better than table sugar, but except for this drink, I have removed ALL sugar from my diet. While some claim the glycemic index is lower in coconut sugar than white refined sugar 35/63, it’s still sugar.
