In today's social media age, content is king.  More specifically, video content.  With today's technology, we don't even have to go outside to film.

We can do it in the comfort of our own homes.  It's not as hard or as expensive as it may seem.  I am here to give you some tips on how to shoot professional looking videos for your social media.

In today's social media age, content is king.  More specifically, video content.  With today's technology, we don't even have to go outside to film.

We can do it at the comfort of our own homes.  It's not as hard or as expensive as it may seem.  I am here to give you some tips on how to shoot professional looking videos for your social media.
The first thing to do when setting up is to find the right equipment and software that won't break the bank for you.

Your budget has to be the first thing you decide on.  The camera, lighting and software you use will have a big impact on the overall quality of your video.

For instance, I bought a construction light for under 10 bucks and it helps a lot when I'm making videos.  It provides great lighting and quite convenient since it is not heavy to move around.

When creating the set at your home, choosing the right props is essential.   You don't want to go overboard.  You have to think of your theme and the kind of vibe you want to go for.

Don't choose props that might overshadow you as a focus or take away a big chunk from the frame.  I usually go for simple props such as having flowers on a vase or some photos in the background.

Now that you have chosen the right props for your set, it's time to redecorate the space where you will be filming. Keep your theme in mind when designing your filming space.

If you have a spare room to turn into a studio, that will be the best option, but you can also just transform a corner of your room into your filming area.

If you have a space in your home that can provide you a beautiful backdrop, that will be perfect. If you can't find that in your home, I suggest buying or using cloth as your backdrop.

You can use a spare bedsheet if you have one and just hang it behind you.  It's a cheap and easy alternative to give you a great backdrop even when you're filming at home.

When you've finished designing your space and you're happy with it, it's time to practice and know hot to fill the frame.

Filling the frame correctly will give the subject of the photo and cleared and more profound emphasis.

How exactly do you fill the frame?  Zoom in on the subject while your'e filming for more prominence.

You can also your videographer, if you have one, to walk closer to the subject in certain moments rather than zooming it.  When the subject is emphasized, the audience will feel more connected to what you are talking about.

It might seem daunting to film content at your own home because of the expectations on how it should be done.

The thing is that filming does not have to be expensive and it also doesn't have to take up the whole space of your home.  You can have a fabulous set and outcome by being practical about the details.

Don't be scared to try it out. Oh, never forget the most important part: be confident when you're in front of the camera!
