Can I let you in on a little secret?  Since the Rona began, I haven’t been taking the best care of myself.

Can you relate?

I lost my focus, lost sight of the goal at hand.  And you know what?  It’s totally ok.

It’s not productive to make a big long list of EVERYTHING you’re going to fix and then try to beat yourself into submission.

I remember when building my bicycles, wanting to get them as light as possible.  It wasn’t about finding a 1 pound part that I could ride without.  Instead it was locating 16 places where I could remove an ounce.  Same outcome.

I’ve put together a plan.  Today, I’m back to my supplements.

(If you’d like the list of which supplements I take and why, check out my blog post for that.)

Tomorrow, I’ll add 3 minutes of breath work to my morning.  An easy 4 count box breathing session.

In case you aren’t familiar with box breathing, its a 4 count inhale, 4 count hold, 4 count exhale followed by a 4 count hold.  Continued through for three minutes.  It is so relaxing.

The following day I’m adding 7 minutes of stretching.  I have this great app on my phone for a 7 minute stretching session.

These 3 will be a great start to getting myself back on track to gracious self-care.

If you watched my Living Room IGTV, then you know that my desk is set up in such a way that I can long-gaze out my window at any time.

I bet I can spare another 5 minutes each morning long gazing outside from my patio.  I’ll add that next.

A few days after that, 7 minutes of yoga added to the list of changes.  Yes, there’s an app for that, too.

So, there you go.  First week in I’ll be back to supplements, breath work, stretching, yoga and outside long-gazing.

Just 27 minutes each day.  I’ll be off to a great start.  Then every week, I’ll add a few more activities so I’m feeling better about myself.
