My Super Hero - the inner child

She is my super hero.

It’s important to go back to that inner child…to thank them for who you’ve become. If it wasn’t for them and their amazing tenacity, you wouldn’t be who you are today. Thank them for being the warriors that got us through.

They are the ones that saved each of us, somewhere in our childhood, when we were asked to carry something that was far too big for such a little person.

Make sure you take the time to reminisce with them. They need to hear how proud you are of them for carrying you through the early stuff.

Look at photos of yourself as a child. I unfortunately only have this one. But I have it framed and placed so I can smile about her every day as I walk through the house.

Write a letter to them. I have not tried this one, but am going to this month. Mine will start with “You’ll never believe what we did…”

Journal as your inner child. It’s a great way to sort through emotional turmoil that may still be lingering. It will help you understand how you problem-solve the way you do.

Think about and write about what you loved most as a child. I remember ripping around on a banana seated bike and being a HUGE tomboy.

Let them out often to play.  I’ve had to teach TheGuy to do this.

Flying kites on the beach, crayons and coloring books, dancing like you did when you were young.

Your inner child needs time to breath and play.  It makes you emotionally healthier as the grown up you.

Take a moment and share with me what you're most proud of from your inner child?

I would be delighted to hear from you...

And this story is morphing right before our eyes… the story of running away from home.
